PHILLY FAMILIES, LISTEN UP!

We can help our kids become stronger readers.

Small things we do together as a family, like SIMPLE SIGNS and the FREEDOM SCHOOLS ALPHABET SONG, can have a big impact on our children’s brain development, language skills and early literacy.

Some families are already doing this, but most of us need guidance, some practice and ideas that grab our attention.

That’s why we created Right2ReadPhilly to show how we, as families, can help exercise our children’s right to read.

We don’t need to worry about getting everything right at first. We just have to keep up the playful learning, remembering playful learning takes two.

ADVISORY COUNCIL

Right2ReadPhilly is led by caring grownups who all believe a family’s love is the most powerful force for social change, racial justice and educational equity. We are all committed to the Right2ReadPhilly Declaration.
